Come & Try It – Pastels

Instructor: Nanci Sheppard

When: Wednesday, January 5, 2022

The Fine Arts Painting Club provides residents with a unique opportunity to try a new art medium without making a large investment. If you have never painted before this is the workshop for you! If you have painted but want to try out a new medium, this is the class for you! You will receive professional instruction and all the necessary supplies for this class. You may sign up for any or all workshops.

In this workshop we will be painting fruit. Nanci will bring many examples of pastel painted fruit and do a demonstration on how to paint with pastels. Each student will take home a painting of a fruit. Nanci will mentor each student and offer guidance and suggestions along the way. You will have plenty of time to finish your painting and take it home as your piece of art. This class is for beginners.

You will learn the many aspects of using chalk pastels in this workshop. A pastel is an art medium in the form of a stick, consisting of powdered pigment and a binder. The pigments used in pastels are similar to those used to produce some other colored visual arts media, such as oil paints.

Fee: $20.00
