Class Description:
Creative Art Journaling
Creative Art journaling is a unique way to combine the elements of art and writing into a visual diary of sorts that allows personal expression. It is a great way to open up to new ideas by experimenting with media, words and techniques. The methodology is centered around an individual blend of imagery and text, with no wrong way to approach it. Everything is correct. It’s fun to explore what your mind comes up with and often becomes a great incubator to get juices flowing. All water media, watercolor pencils, colored pencils, markers, ink, calligraphy pens, papers, newspapers, magazines, and rudimentary printmaking is acceptable and encouraged.
Supply List: (Posted online or provided by the instructor. If there is an additional supply fee you must list the cost and approximate supplies provided.)
· A Blank Journal of your choice of size, preferably paper for mixed media, spiral or hard bound.
· Water media: your choice of watercolor pencils, colored pencils, watercolors, pastels, markers, pens, water soluble paint, calligraphy pens—use what you have already or purchase what you’d like to use (Michael’s and Hobby Lobby have everything you may need and then some).
· Newspapers; magazines, wrapping paper, tissue paper: whatever you have and will use and/or share.
· Printed copies of old photos. If you don’t have a printer, the instructor will print some for you for a minimal fee.
· Modge Podge and glue brush
· Scissors or Exacto knife for cutting papers and magazines
· Your creative spirit
No materials fee. The instructor will have some extra goodies on hand for student use on a donation basis.
