Class Description:
Learn new techniques in colored pencils and traditional illustration while we draw cacti, cactus flowers and tropical flowers. Shortcuts, color combos and eye-catching methods will be shared to make your work stand out. At the end of the class, you’ll have at least on finished piece for framing.
Supply List:
• A good set of colored pencils (I like Prismacolor Premium Pencils. A set of 12 is about $16; Set of 24 is about $30) I recently splurged on Faber-Castell Polychromos Pencils and loved them.
• #2 graphite pencil
•Photo reference (Instructor will provide many of her own photos to use as reference or bring your own.)
• Optional: Small set of watercolors and brushes and/or pastels. (Instructor will have these available to use also.)
• Optional: Xacto Knife. (Instructor will have one to use if needed.)
• Optional: Battery powered eraser. (Instructor will have one to use and try.)
• Heavy duty pencil sharpener (Instructor will have an electric pencil sharpener on hand to use also)
Supply Fee: Donation basis. The instructor will provide smooth Bristol paper, canvas paper, toned panels, tracing paper, turpenoid, colorless blender and white colored pencil. Students can pick what substrate they want to try or use for their artwork and donate what they think is fair.
