Class Description:
In this class you will learn how to work with tissue paper in a collage. The first two weeks we will make papers for our subject of either flowers or a beautiful desert scene, (your choice)
using different paper printing methods on the gelli plate, hand painted papers, and stenciling.
We will make both tissue paper and other papers for the collage. In weeks 3 and 4 we will
create our painting with the papers we made, on a cradle board. Preferred size of cradle board
is 12×12, but if you have a different size you want to use, we can work with it. By the middle of
the 4th week, you will be finished with your painting and I will show you how to finish it, ready
for hanging. I will provide inspiration pictures, but you are welcome to bring your own too. I
will provide wet strength tissue paper, gold, silver, copper foil, varnish for the finishing of your
project, and various tools for you to use to make your papers. A supply list will be provided to
you upon registration. This is a fun and exciting class where “fun” is the main objective and of
course, creating a “one of a kind” paper painting.
Maximum Number of Students: 11
Class Cost: $100.00 for members, $140.00 for non-members. Supply Fee: $8.00. Members
and non-members will pay the supply fee.
Provided in the supply fee: Wet strength tissue paper, gold, silver, copper foil, glitter paint,
varnish for the finished project.
