Student Experience: Beginner to advanced but need to have some experience in any medium.
Maximum number of students: 12. Minimum to do the class: 6
Dates and Time: October 9, 16, 23 and 30, 2026, on Fridays from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm
Number of weeks: 4
This class is not covered under the Summer Fee Program
Members and non-members pay the teacher $100.00 for the 4-week session on the first day of class.
Non-members pay an additional $40 to QCFAPC or join the club for $25 a year.
No supply fee. Students must provide all the materials to complete the class. A supply list will be provided upon registration.
CLASS DESCRIPTION:
We will create our collage papers on the gelli plate, and use them to create a lovely painting of a bird. Bird patterns will be provided, so you may choose your favorite one, along with inspiration pieces to stimulate your imagination. In the first 2 classes we will make our collage papers using the gelli plate, stencils, markers, pressure plates, foam stamps, and other materials to create one-of-a-kind papers. I will provide some of these for you to use, but feel free to bring your own too. In the last 2 classes we will create our painting. I will help you at every step, creating a mixed media painting right along with you. In addition, each class will have demonstrations for you to try on your own gelli plate. We will discuss color, composition and final details to make your painting stand out. To register, email me at eortega412@aol.com.
