Class Description: If you have enjoyed looking at mixed media work, but have no idea how to get started, this demonstration is for you. Because the cost to the club to buy supplies for mixed media would be too much, we are doing a demonstration only so that you can see if this kind of art is for you. Then, if you want to try it yourself, you can enroll in a class in November, 2025 to learn all the steps in this art form. See the instructor for details.
In this demonstration, Emilie will demonstrate the use of a gelli plate and associated mark making tools to print colorful papers to use in a collage. Secondly, she will show you how to choose a subject, apply the papers to a cradle board or canvas, and finish the project. She will show you some of her finished work so that you will know what the end result of this kind of art looks like. Mixed media is exciting because there is no end to the creative ideas that can be applied to collage work. Come join us for an exciting and informative afternoon.
