For many years my art took the form of “Performing Arts”. I have a degree in Theatre and Communications from the University of Nebraska. My career consisted of management roles in Human Resources for a number of large companies such as Toshiba Electronics, Air Touch (now called Verizon), The Capital Group of Companies, and Hyundai Motor America corporate headquarters in Fountain Valley, CA. I focused on recruitment, training and employee relations.

My travelling job and long hours did not allow for much art or performance art, but as I looked to retirement, I began to explore them again. I performed and directed for 10 years in Southern California along with dabbling in fine art. My first medium was acrylics doing representational painting. Then I became interested in watercolor and took many classes both offered by artists and at the community college near my So. California home.

Moving to So. Arizona in 2017 really opened up my art journey. I do watercolor, abstract acrylics and mixed media. Currently I have fallen in love with the many, many ways to do mixed media, including gelli plate printing. I am teaching here at the QCFAPC the many aspects of mixed media focused on using gelli prints to create wonderful paper paintings. Come try one of my classes and you too will be obsessed with the gelli printing process.
