Member Cost: $100 plus $20 supply fee payable to Sue the 1st day of class
Non-member Cost: $100 and $20 supply fee payable to Sue plus $40 payable to QCFAPC on the 1st day of class.

Description:
Increase your knowledge of how to arrange and organize a variety of elements
into a balanced whole. Clearly guide your viewers’ attention, convey your artistic
meaning and communicate emotion within your artwork. In this class you will
learn how the elements of line, shape, value and texture influence the picture
surface. Through completing guided exercises, you will create a visual journal
that will provide a lasting record of your observations and discoveries. You will
learn the uses and limitations of each visual element in creating compositional
designs in representational or abstract work. You will also be introduced to
traditional compositional strategies used by painting masters. By using and
manipulating these strategies to solve your own composition challenges, you will
learn to achieve the results you desire.
This class is suitable for all skill levels. Lessons will be demonstrated in a variety of
mediums, but usually acrylics and/or pencils. If a participant is proficient in other
mediums, they may be used as well.
