Acrylic paint is an incredibly versatile art medium Acrylics can be used to create effects as transparent as watercolor, as opaque as gouache, or as buttery as oils. This series is perfect for beginning painters to build basic painting skills and learn to use acrylic media.
In each four week session we will paint one desert plant in a specific style. Each session will include lessons in composition, understanding and using value, how to mix colors and use basic color theory in planning your paintings.
Because the key compositional elements have already been completed, participants are encouraged to recreate (or slightly modify) sample paintings as a learning shortcut to practice paint handling. One may also bring original source material similar to the painting to be practiced if desired.
Registration for this session opens October 6, 2022. Cost is $80 for the 4 weeks payable at the first class. Please email the instructor at suejwerner@gmail.com and include the class name and the start date.
This class is open to all Quail Creek residents. If you have not yet joined the Fine Arts Painting Club a $25.00 annual FAPC fee is required to enroll in this class. A family membership is $35.00. If you join the club between October 1 and December 31, your dues are valid from date paid through the following year. You may join and sign the waiver at your first class.
