Class: Introduction to Soft Pastels with Laura Milkins

Pastels are a beautiful, direct way of creating a colorful drawing. Old Masters like Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci created beautiful pastel works using only black, white and red chalk. In this class, Laura will share some old masters as well as contemporary approaches for making beautiful pastel paintings. Each class, she will introduce new techniques. Then, you will make an image using your newly learned techniques. This course covers color theory, techniques and approaches to Soft Pastels. Subject matter will include still-life, landscape, birds and portraits. If you are more advanced, you will work on more complicated images using these techniques.
Cost: $100 payable at the first class.
